Bonjour from Brooke and Kristen!

Today was absolutely the hottest day yet!! We got an early start and headed down to the school where we held our first medical clinic. By the time we arrived at 8 am, people were already lined up at the gates and had come from hours away to be there. We were able to set up two rooms with staff and equipment to examine patients. To no surprise , the Lord quickly made himself apparent when a mission truck showed up with several cases full of medical supplies- most of which were the exact ones we did not have! It never ceases to amaze us how the Lord provides and how He has worked in so many ways already! Despite the heat, our team was able to come together and saw over 100 patients in 6 hours. This is really the first medical clinic that the Mole has had and it went great! We didn’t really know what to expect today and we are remaining flexible for tomorrow.

We were all so impressed with our Haitian translators who have been with us from the beginning. It was so moving to see the love they bear for their country and their people. Without them, we would be truly lost.

After the clinic, our group went several different ways: some traveling to the jail to minister to the inmates, others to play soccer or frisbee in the streets with the kids.

One of the most touching moments for us was when one of our translators came to the group after dinner and thanked us on behalf of his country, from the bottom of his heart, for all of the hard work we had put into today. We feel like we are the lucky ones to have this opportunity to serve. Not that we need to be reminded, but his words just reaffirmed for all of us why we are here! We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers being sent our way. God has certainly provided for us and we know He will continue to do so!

“We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves” Romans 15:1
