Greetings from Haiti PV friends and family. We’ve had a wonderful evening and day since our last blog. Last night after dinner we were able to go invite friends to the revival beginning tonight.

This morning we were privileged to attend church with the Haitian congregation where Rick preached about freedom. The passion expressed by our Haitian friends in music and song was incredibly moving. The sweat was just sweat! HA!

We were very blessed to be the first team here the week after turmoil and the fire damage within the church. We really believe God led us here for such a time as this. The tension seems to be resolving after much prayer and diligent work of the NWHCM staff and friends. We are praying diligently for Jocelyn – a worker here at NWHCM. Would you please join us? We are also seriously praying for the rest of the NWHCM staff.

The people of The Mole have been very welcoming. After lunch today we headed up into the mountain area behind the mission to meet the people and invite them to the revival. We were very privileged to get to pray and take pictures with them. It was totally awesome. An incredible experience to be invited to pray for their needs.

The luggage truck still has not arrived. We are still waiting on most of our stuff after quickly rearranging everything at the small airport to make weight. Hopefully it will come sometime tonight so we can have supplies and some clean clothes and tennis shoes. Gayla – we got the popcorn and Twizzlers here for the movie night on Friday as a priority.

Hey Nick – just want you to know Mom actually played post in a basketball game with a skirt and flip-flops on. I have the pictures to prove it. HA! It was fun, or funny, I’m not sure which. You would love the kids and they would love you because they want to play like crazy!

Nate – you would be amazed at the buildings here. They are mostly concrete block and then tin for the roofs with whatever for doors or windows. Mom and Renee get to stay inside in the dorm with indoor plumbing. YEAH! Dad and Jeff are in tents in the unfinished cafeteria and get to use the latrines and showers at the orphanage.

Thank you for your prayers. We ask for your continued prayer support. We are all well and feel very blessed to be in this beautiful place with these beautiful people.

From Momentum Christian Church – McDonough, GA

Momentum is here! Saturday was a little crazy but everyone was in good spirits.  We left the hotel in Miami Saturday morning at 4:00 a.m. to leave on the plane to Port of Prince at 6:15.  After we boarded the plane we were told the plane was broken and so we had to disembark the plane and sit in the terminal.  We left at 11:15 a.m. to Port of Prince.

At Port of Prince we split put most the luggage on a truck.  Because of the size of our group many of our carry-on luggage had to go on the truck.  That luggage included several of our team’s clothes.  The plan was for the truck to arrive at the Mole around mid-night.

There was another delay in Port of Prince for a couple of hours before we took our puddle jumper flight to the Mole.  The waiting was a blessing as we all took the time to bond and learn more about each other.  The flight to the Mole was quite the adventure for some as several had not been on a plane that small.

Arriving in the Mole from the dirt road airport in the back of the truck the children and locals all welcomed us as we drove through the town.  It was quite uplifting as we arrived at the base camp and ate some amazing spaghetti.

After dinner we all went to the Camp where the guys set-up their tents and we were able to meet the orphans.  It had already gotten dark.  It was glorious mayhem as the orphans came to greet us like we were heroes returning home.  The children clung to us and we carried and played with them until we were all exhausted.

This morning we worshiped with our brothers and sister’s in Christ.  After worship we were notified the truck had broken down and was delayed.  It’s now after 3:00 and the truck still hasn’t arrived.  Some are quite anxious and a few are a “little seasoned” due to the lack of changing clothes.  Yet, through all the challenges Jesus Christ is being praised, God is worshiped and all is well with the Momentum Team.

Bonswa from The Mole, lovely Momentum family and friends.  While you were attending your local church this morning, we had the sweet privilege of listening to some of the most beautiful voices in the world, lifting praises to our Lord.  It was in an army tent, it was a tad warm, we didn’t understand a word, but none of that mattered. The sounds of praises to Jesus are universal, aren’t they?  I wished I knew the words to sing along, but it was a true blessing to sit with our Haitian brothers and sisters in Christ, singing praises and hearing the Truth.

Interestingly enough, the sermon could have fit right into our Neighbor series.  The pastor spoke out of Galatians 5 and talked a lot about loving our neighbor as ourselves. It was a great truth to hear, and particularly applicable here in Haiti.

While we were waiting for the truck full of our luggage and medical supplies, we decided to take the missionaries’ kids to the beach.  You can see in the pictures that the beach is just beautiful.  Some of the bluest water you have ever seen.

There is a hotel being built, so maybe in a couple of years, you could come stay in Mole St. Nicholas yourself.  It would definitely be a chance to “get away from it all”, enjoy some peace and quiet, and meet some beautiful people.

After our beach trip and a good bit of waiting, we heard the glorious sound of a big truck coming down the road.  Our medical supplies!  Our food!  Our luggage!  What ensued next is tough to describe.  I won’t say it was chaotic, but there was a lot of people, a lot of suitcases, and a lot of work getting done!  All of the medical supplies have been transferred to the employee homes on the orphanage property, which is where they will be sorted and stored so that we can grab and go each day as we head to the various villages.  We are all set to do crafts, the women’s conference, the beach party, and any other activities that we decide to do while we are here.  Praise the Lord for getting the truck here safely!

I want to close by asking you to continue to pray for our team and for the people here in The Mole.  Upon our arrival, we were told of a current situation with their local church.  I don’t know if details are necessary, but suffice it to say, it’s a bit of a rough time here.  It’s a lot like the politics that go on in the States.  Add that onto the already challenging work of teaching the local people that Jesus loves them and He is all they need, and you can see that there is a lot of work to be done.

Our team being here is no coincidence.  As part of the team, I can admit I feel a bit unworthy of the great calling.  I imagine others may feel the same.  Pray that the Lord will empower us with His Holy Spirit, that we will have courage, boldness, and confidence as we meet people and try to convey that we love them because Jesus loves them.  Pray that our medical team will have success in healing the sick people we encounter and that we will successfully portray to them that we are here in the name of Jesus.  We want God to get all the credit and all the glory.

Derrick, Mimi, Elizabeth, Layla, & Josiah – I love you all very much.  I am thinking of you and praying for you, and I look forward to seeing you soon.  Thank you for allowing me to be here to be the face of Jesus to these wonderful people.  There are so many kids here, and they all remind me of my sweet babies.  I miss you! Mwah!

The revival tonight was a HUGE success! After an incredibly difficult week (I will blog about it once I process it all) – there is definitely REVIVAL happening here in the Mole this week!

I am BLOWN AWAY by the medical supplies this team brought! I have spent the afternoon crying tears of joy! So many lives will be saved through this teams’s efforts! Not to mention all the formula that we have for our precious little orphan babies!
