And Justice For All…

What an AWESOME day! Did I say today was a good day? Let me just say that it was a great day! It was an eye-opening day!

We were SO blessed to have 2 advocacy agencies visit our orphanage today in Mole St Nicholas!

One agency is called IBSER (Institut du Bien-Etre Social et de recherches)! IBESR is an office much like social services. They work for the government, they are advocates for all children, and they make sure all the orphanages are functioning properly.

The second agency is called Brigade Protection des Mineurs (BPM). They are a division of police that protect minors! I didn’t even know they existed! How cool is that!?!

They were so impressed with the orphanage, the children, and all the staff! They loved and played with the kids most of the morning! In fact, they spent the whole day here with us!

After lunch we had some really serious conversations and I can’t tell you what comfort they brought me! I began explaining to them about all the children who come to my clinic with STD’s and all the slave children we have come across during our Hut to Hut Evangelism.

They REALLY want to help us! They told us that all these things that we were told were “legal” are NOT! This just shows you the level of education/resistance of those around us – including the other officials we have talked to! NO ONE would help us. In fact we were told to leave it alone.

They are not only willing to stand right there with us  – but they are even ready to lead the way to FIGHT FOR JUSTICE for all the children in the Mole!

I have tears as I sit here and type! I cannot tell you the sleepless nights – the faces of little ones that I cannot forget – that I know are suffering in the most inhumane ways. We are already working together on some strategies to eradicate injustice here!

We have been praying and circling this for years! God has heard our cries and is giving us the resources to stop this madness! I am SO HOPEFUL for real change! Please pray with us! The journey to freedom has just begun….. but I have no doubt HE will be victorious!

Isaiah 1:17   Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.

Psalm 33:5 The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.

Psalm 140:12 I know that the LORD secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy.

Isaiah 30:18  Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!

Isaiah 51:4-5  “Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: The law will go out from me; my justice will become a light to the nations. My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.

Matthew 12:18 Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations.

  1. Hi Jody, Praise God for this visit! When I joined you in circle prayer earlier this year the cry of my heart was justice for the oppressed in The Mole. Thank you for your perseverance and for sharing the developments so faithfully!

Continuing to uphold you in prayer,

  2. Incredible news! Yeah God! Momentum is so thankful and what a cool thing as we teach from James 1:27 tomorrow on Orphans and taking care of those who can’t take care of themselves.
