Olton Group…Last Day

Hey everybody! This is Dusti! Thank you all for writing to us, we look forward to hear from yall every night when they read them to us! Since we didn’t get to blog yesterday I will tell you what we did!

We left for Marouge in the morning. We rode in the back of a pickup with benches in the back! The road was EXTREMELY bumpy, but we were so excited it didn’t seem to bother us too much! We held a VBS there and the children had so much fun! The bracelets were a big hit! We also took nail polish, coloring pages, bubbles and soccer balls.  The kids love to take pictures all you have to say is “photo” and they light up! However, they always want to see it and then laugh and get really shy. You can see gods love through their eyes, they are just adorable.

It is very easy to fall in love with the villages, the country, and most of all the people! You can tell god is watching over this place and blessing them! They are so happy to have so little and I cannot describe the feeling it gives you to see their shinning faces!

P.S. I miss you mom, dad, and Pecos, I love you very much! I love it here but I sure am missing my family today.  This place has taught me how blessed we are. I love you and be home soon. Tell Maggie and Shelbie hi for me and keep feeding my fishy!

Thanks for writing Marci, Skylar and Alexa! Miss y’all and see you soon! Love you!

Tory here! To say Haiti is hot would be a major understatement. We are sweating non-stop but enjoying every second. This morning after breakfast we took two small boats to a nearby village, Kapafu. There we made crafts with the beautiful people. I myself was blessed with the opportunity to pray over the village.

It is very nerve-racking especially having to speak through a translator, but God is giving us all the words.  Did I mention the water is CRYSTAL clear; you can literally see right to the bottom of the Atlantic. Are God’s creations not just breath-taking? Whenever I look into the eyes of a “belle” (that’s beautiful in Creole) Haitian, I truly experience God’s love and majesty. God has changed my heart already in ways I never thought possible.

P.S.

Mommy- I miss and love you SO much. I know you would argue with me and say that you love and missed me more, but I’m not so sure. You would love it. Loving on all the children reminds me of how you love me. Dad says he loves you and misses you as well. We will see you soon! Love, AB.

P.P.S

I have a new addiction, Haitian coffee.

*****

Hey y’all! It’s Bren. This week has flown by! We’ve been so busy showing God’s love and spending time with the beautiful people of Haiti. This afternoon around 1 (12 o clock Olton time), we had a princess party for the girls. Due to the abuse that some of these girls may have endured, we decided address them about those situations. We taught them a catchy song to sing, to remind them to guard their hearts and bodies. God is the one true king and the girls were taught that they are his beautiful princesses.

After the discussion we prayed over the girls. I definitely could feel God’s presence throughout each prayer. The feeling was truly indescribable! During the party we did the girls make-up (they loved the glitter and lipstick), handed each girl a cute crown to place on their heads, and a baggie with lots of goodies inside. I’m so happy we were able to have some “girl time”, I mean come on..what girl doesn’t? J We are so blessed with y’all’s support back home and we can’t thank you all enough for that!

P.S Momma, I really REALLY do miss you and I can’t wait to give you a great big hug. J Dad, I know you’re wondering if I’m okay, and I’m here to say I’m doing great! Thank you for your love and support. J Keekadies and Mikedy, I love you and I’ll be home soon so don’t worry too much. See y’all on Sunday.

Love Brenna.

  2. So great to hear what beautiful and wonderful things you all are doing. God’s love is like no other…and when you feel his presence…well…you just know it! My heart is full of pride and emotion to hear how God is touching these lives through you …and even touching your lives as well.
This brings to mind the song that says” little hands, lonely eyes looking back at me, will we leave the innocent behind too brief…I know my God wont let them be defeated..Every child has a dream to belong and be loved.. “boys will be kings..girls will be queens wrapped in His majesty; when we love the least of these;then they will be brave and free and shout His name in Victory!
    Love you all…God is Great!
