Hello from Haiti. This is Colleen. I just wanted to write a little about how things are going in Mole St Nicholas. I have been enjoying the beautiful scenery here. There is such a gorgeous view of the water, which is something I absolutely love! The water is so peaceful and also amazing. It really makes me think of the wonder of God’s creation.
Today is Sunday so we had church service here in the Mole. It was wonderful to be able to worship with my brothers and sisters here in Haiti. That’s one of the things I love about being a Christian. Anywhere I go I can still be at home with family because we all belong to our Father, God.
We had music and worship and prayer just like at home. The only difference was the language. I understand just a few words of Kreyol so I didn’t understand everything, but as anybody who knows me knows, that didn’t stop me from participating.
I got up and spoke a few words in Kreyol and then sang a song with one of the interpreters. We sang in English, Spanish and French. I also did Sign Language.
We went to the Orphanage yesterday and I got to meet Kiki the little boy I sponsor. He has such a beautiful smile. He would make anybody happy. I met all the other kids also. I will be taking individual photos of them later.
I am enjoying spending time with the ladies from Pleasant Valley Baptist also. I just met them on the way in when we stopped in Miami. They are all so wonderful and friendly. I already feel comfortable with them.
I’m looking forward to the rest of the week here and seeing what God has for me to receive and to give.
On a special note to my husband, John, I love you and miss you very much. I thank you for all the support you give me. You are an amazing man.
To my church, Faith Gospel at Ft Gordon, GA. I want to bring you all to Haiti. So start thinking about that. Thank you all for your prayers, encouragement and funding for me to do this.

Greetings from Haiti!!! This is Dani. Today has been such a wonderfully blessed day: We had children’s church; we relaxed at the beach; and we are getting ready to have a movie night some of the children from the orphanage and the church.
With being “in charge” of children’s church, I must say…it went really well…but it is so different than teaching in an American classroom. There were all ages of children (babies to 11…12…or so)…and they were all so well behaved. They sat when asked; they sang when asked; they were quiet when it was time; and they shouted praise at the top of their lungs when it was time for that.
We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar…and talked about how Jesus provides us with the food we need for nourishment…and how, when you have the love of Jesus, it’s like your heart is transformed into the beautiful butterfly with such color and vibrance. We, afterward, took white bandanas and tie-dyed them to signify the magnificent color you get in your life as a believer and a follower of Christ.
We based the teachings around 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passes away; behold, all things are become new.” After our tie-dye fun, we colored on coloring sheets and made necklaces with Fruit Loops…terrific fine motor practice! J
After children’s church, we took some time to unwind and rejuvenate. Adair and I spent the entire time at the beach; Sarah and Gayla prepared the popcorn for our movie night before heading to the beach; and Betty came to the beach after she’d worked to prepare for the women’s Bible study we have tomorrow. I really think it was much needed downtime…especially for Adair and me…so we could process everything that has happened in the past few days.
And now…we just finished dinner, and we’re just getting ready to watch a movie with the kiddos. Like I said at the beginning: It’s been a wonderfully blessed day. Thank you all for reading and commenting!

We are praying for great rest, no mosquitos and God’s transforming power in all you do. I keep thinking of how this team came together and God’s amazing way of providing all that was needed. He is going to use you this week in amazing ways for His glory and His Kingdom. We are rejoicing that Doumy has taken the step of faith and accepted Christ as his personal Savior. I just love to sit and imagine what Heaven will be like…people from every tribe, every nation and someone will be there because of your faithfulness!! What a day that will be :). Dani, I have sweet memories of Children’s Church and I can just picture them having fun with the Fruit Loop necklaces and tie dye bandannas – what a cool way to illustrate “color” in your life! God is with you all and the seeds you are planting are making for a grand harvest. Love the photos! Can’t wait to hear about the one with Gayla. 🙂 Sarah, did you give the puppies any of that popcorn? Hey PV Ladies, what incredible work you all are doing, as you love deeply all those with whom you have contact. I know many are continuing to lift up your work there, and specifically that the Holy Spirit would anoint you all with a special boldness as you proclaim the saving grace of Christ. However, Betty, I am getting concerned that you will go on one of these trips and not come back…and The LORD has not cleared that with me yet 🙂 You are greatly missed.
Gayla and Sarah – thank you for continuing to model the missional life for our church in all ways.
Jody, it was awesome to read of Doumy coming to Christ…I celebrate with you all, because I know how long and hard you have been praying for him. Please send my greetings to Pastor Agenor…I pray for him and his ministry often, and looking forward to seeing him again very soon.
