PV Teens in 2014….Day 2

Today was a wonderful day. The team went to the fishing villages to preform the freedom drama and talk to the people. Sadly, we were unable to preform to KaPaFu because the boats we took were unable to dock since the waves were too big.

Thankfully we were able to make it to Preskul and talk to the people there. The freedom drama went great and the people seemed to get the message. As we were talking to the villagers, it was easy to see God at work. Many people liked the story and message we were trying to send and said they thought of Jesus in a different way. There were even a few people who suggested that they needed a church so they could get a different message every Sunday.

After returning to the mission campus, we got to play with the orphans. It was so nice to see that the orphans wanted to play with us, so much that they didn’t want us to leave.

Thanks for all the prayers back home. Special shout out to Papa. Hope you have a wonderful birthday. Love and miss everyone.

Hi Mom and Dad! I figured I should let you know about my ear.. It still hasn’t unpopped and the other is like halfway popped but it doesn’t hurt. Just kinda feels like I’m talking under water. Miss you guys! Give the girls a big hug for me. And tell Ben I said hi!

  2. Hannah, I’m glad your ear isn’t hurting but hope that it pops soon that you can hear better. It’s great that things are going well there and that you are so excited to be serving the people of Haiti. We really miss you and can’t wait to see you. Love, Mom.

  3. Praise God for the youth at PVBC. May you never forget this experience. The children look delighted to see you. What a wonderful opportunity this is for us to experience your journey. We are jealous of the beautiful blue water! May God continue to bless all of you with strength as you show others what it’s like to have the Holy Spirit live in your heart.

  4. Molly, We miss you too! We are enjoying seeing all your smiling faces. Praying for each one of you as you continuing doing God’s work this week! So looking forward to hearing all your stories back here in KC.

  5. HANNAH MELLEMA, WE MISS YOU. Looks like all is going well, would love to see more than your feet in the pics. How many of those sweet lil orphans can you fit in your luggage to bring home with you? Praying for you morning, noon and night. ♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡

  6. Praise the Lord that you are showing the love of Christ to these children. I am praying that many of the seeds you have planted today will sprout up to new life through faith in the Lord Jesus, And as you serve the Lord in Haiti, may your faith be strengthened as well. “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

  7. Hey All (and MOLLY) It is supposed to snow here tonight. You picked the right week to take a Caribbean trip. Praying that God is at work in the world where you are and that you have a chance to be a part of what he has going on.

  8. Tonight, I asked the kids in Cross Street to pray for you all when they say their prayers, especially you, Molly and Emilee, since they see you up front. I’m proud that we have youth like you that are willing to go to tell others about Jesus. Love the pics!

  9. Wow! I’m confident that your time spent with those precious babies will leave eternal footprints on their hearts. Those pictures warmed my heart. Onu way to church tonight, one of Kirk Franklin’s songs came on about being the hands and feet of God. Please know that I’m praying for each of you daily

Jordon somehow I knew you’d be near a ball. That picture made my heart melt.

    Love you!

    Mom

  10. Praying for the team, and especially for you Hannah. I’m inspired by you guys. Praying that God will allow you to see his people through his eyes this week. Be bold, obsess over truth.

I love you Hannah. I’ll disagree with anyone that says God can’t/won’t use twitter (#hannahtosummerfest2013)

  11. Hey there, Team,

We are praying for you as you continue your journey of faith in action. You are close to our hearts while far from home.

  12. Enjoy seeing all of your smiling faces in the pictures. Keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers! Molly and Emilee, the Summers girls are all praying for you!

  13. @HannahMellema – I am praying for you daily and know you are having an impact on those around you and having a great time too! I know you miss me terribly as well as my cooking (If you find a good goat recipe – please bring that home for me to try!). To catch you up on the sports world – basketball is among us. Kansas lost (as if we care!) Mizzou embarrassed themselves and will not likely get into the tournament (Ha!) and for the first time in 16 years, Nebrasketball will likely make the big dance – I hope you brought your NU shirt to wear proudly! Take lots of pics while you are there – We know you and your team will make a lasting impact for the Kingdom while in Haiti – know that God is with you every step of the way!

    Dad

  14. We are so thankful for each of you! So blessed to see what you are getting to do each day ~ love to see all the smiling faces and beautiful children! This is an encouragement to us but may you also be encouraged, strengthened and comforted to know that you are lifted up in prayer throughout every day. We pray that God will give you courage, boldness and clarity as you live and portray His story to the Haitian people and as you serve the orphans.
Caleb “daddy longlegs” we love you and miss you tons!
    Love from,
    Dad, Mom and Noah Longley

  15. Hello Haiti team! We are loving all the pictures, updates and Tweets from Brad and Jodi. Keep them coming! It was fun to be a part of prayer circles and other youth and adults thinking about you all today at church. You are not forgotten, and you are thought about and prayed for by many! Keep doing the work God has laid before you.
    Keep working hard team!
    Jane Minnick
Mikayla, we love that you are back with your Haiti family…we know you love the Castillo clan! I think of you all the time (you, too, Hannnah 🙂 ) and I’m excited you get to serve in a place you love to be. Love, Mom and Dad

  16. Haiti Team,
We love the pictures and posts. It makes us feel like we are with you. We have been praying for restful, peaceful sleep at night so that you can be energetic during the day. We have also been praying for new, forever friendships, both on your team and with the people you are serving. We can’t wait to hear about the church service.
Olivia, it is so fun to see Haiti come full circle in our family–from the time, three years ago, that Caleb went on the vision trip to you going and serving today. What a blessing!! (On another note, Parker was PERFECT in church today. He misses you terribly. I gave him a jalapeno at lunch instead of a pickle, and his face was priceless–ha)
    Love,
    Dad, Mom & Oreo

  17. I am so proud of you all for going to Haiti to share the love of Christ, you are such an inspritation. I miss all of you soooo much. Molly, I cried a little in band on thursday morning because I couldn’t talk to you and I miss you more than you miss oeanut butter. Mikayala and Hannah I led your small group this morning and your girls are quite the characters. Bruce, Jacob just told me your birthday is in the next couple days so Happy Birthday! Ok yeah I kinda wanna say something to everyone but I feel like that would be too many words so I love you all and have fun and be the hands and feet of jesus.

  18. Whats up guys! Looks like you’re all having a great time. We’re praying for you back here, keep being bold and stepping out of those comfort zones. Wish I was there with ya! Cant wait to see you guys!

  19. It’s amazing to see all of the good work that God has done in Haiti! I love seeing the pictures of you all playing with the orphan babies and kids in the villages! I also saw Brad’s tweet about Joselanda accepting Christ in Karenage! It’s incredible to think that just two years ago on our trip, those same people yelled at us as we left the village, but God has obviously been transforming their lives since then! Just take that as a reminder that you could be the ones planting seeds in many people’s lives, even by simply playing with them, and not being able to see those rewards in the future. Proud of all the work you guys are doing and have yet to do!
    -Caleb

  20. Ashley and Team,
We are all very excited that you are all not only hearing God’s Voice but also putting feet to his calling. Keep listening and taking those steps of faith and reaching out to all those beautiful people over there. You are all so precious and we are all very proud of each of you.
Ashley-remember what I said on Thursday morning and keep focus on HIM.

  21. Hi Emilee! Praying for you and all the others in your group as you share the gospel!
