For the past 2 months I’ve been teaching our women’s group about how they can be STRONGER with Jesus! They can be stronger than anyone, any circumstance, or ANY THING!
Three weeks ago I gave them an assignment to memorize the 12 ways Jesus walked along with some scripture that went with each way. Everything was translated into Creole and it filled an entire page. I gave them three weeks to memorize it and then told them to come back March 30th after church to repeat it.
I wanted them to memorize this because all of us face struggles. When someone is treating us badly we can remember that Jesus walked in tenderness. When our family is wearing us out – we can remember that Jesus walked in patience. When we are tempted – we can remember that Jesus walked in Obedience. I wanted them not only to know the ways He walked – but to also call upon the scriptures that support each way. There is timeless strength in the Word of God.
I have to tell you we laughed, applauded, and had such pure joy as we all gathered together. Understand that the majority of these ladies cannot read or write. There were four women who memorized the ways He walked along with all of the scriptures. Then there were 8 more that memorized the 12 ways Jesus walked.
I totally surprised them and rewarded each person with a little money for each thing they had memorized. They worked so hard and they were SO thankful! I was SO thankful to have such an amazing group of ladies to minister to.
