Meridian Christian Church~ Day 5

Today was beautiful. But then again, every day here is beautiful. Today we went into town and visited two special needs families, just the smiles on their faces when Shannon told them how special they were was enough to melt my heart right on the spot. As we left, Nadine (a special needs girl) hugged and kissed every one of us. Through the pools of sweat, sun beaming down on us, and not understanding what half of the people here are saying to me, I have fallen in love with Haiti. Earlier today one of the orphans, Robinson, ran up to me and leaped into my arms. After holding him for about five minutes, he was asleep. As much as I miss home, I know my heart will break as I leave the Mole.

P.S. I love and miss you Mom, Dad, and Reese! <3 xoxo

This week was absolutely astounding so far. We have made so many new friends. Those friends include orphans, translators, and towns people. We were able to impact so many lives through our daily camps, town clean up, and evening celebrations. I love it here so much, and maybe once I am older I could consider some summer internships here. Love you all and cannot wait to see you Sunday.

No photos for tonight, because all of our photographers headed to bed right after evening celebration. Look forward to tomorrow for some more photos. Also, continue to leave comments for the team! They love hearing from home and your words of encouragement to them!

  1. I LOVE seeing all the pictures of your week at the Mole…brings back such vivid memories of the times I have been there with you! Yes…of course the heat and sweat, but also your team work and the amazing smiles on the faces of both the Haitians and all of you! Those smiles are pricless! I am praying that God will reveal to each and every one of you what it is that He has for you this week to see Him, to know Him deeper and to love Him more. I was overwhelmed with Joy and Love to see the picture on Day 3 of my Journey Girls together again in Haiti! I LOVE you girls….you are just THE BEST!!! Prayers and Blessings for all for the rest of your time in Haiti and traveling mercies for your return to Michigan. Love, Jan Wellemeyer P.S. Just wondering…who is the designated bedtime bug killer this year!?

  4. The pictures are what make the trip real for me! I’m so glad I get to hear about the day to day sweating and loving on kids. We are sitting on the sun shivering because the wind is chilly. Only 65°.
Love you all and can’t wait to hear more great God stories!

Allie, hug Julie for me…. Julie hug Allie for me! Hugs all around!
