Michigan Group 2017… Day 6…

Hello everyone, hope that life in the States is going swell for you all! Haiti has been fantastic so far. There have been lots of opportunities to put myself in uncomfortable situations which I think needs to be done, especially considering that this is my first mission trip! For instance last night, we had our second night of Evening Celebration, and a skit that Mr. Fowler and I have been collaborating on performed. It was called the “Sin Chair” (Youtube it, it’s a really cool concept of a skit!) and I was pretty nervous to perform it in front of an audience, especially when I did not know how it was going to be received. It ended up going great, which I was so happy to see… the audience loved it and found the message compelling which is what I had hoped!

Besides that, spending time with the orphans and the special needs children has continued to be a highlight for me. I have found such a bond with two little boys, Emmanuel and Marc, and they continue to crack me up and somehow at the same time, melt my heart. I was walking Emmanuel and the other orphans home after our Evening Celebration last night and gave him my phone to use as a flashlight. You should have all seen the seriousness to which he took his duties – his arm was straight up the entire time, and stood very solemnly as he guided his friends and myself back to the mission.

That’s all from Haiti folks! I miss you Mom, Dad, and Pappa (I’m not including Alex because he is in France, so there is a 10/10 chance that he is not thinking of me at all haha ;)), and as much as I do not want to leave, I will look forward to seeing you guys on Friday!  – Megs

Hello Family

This is your father…..haha.  Evening Celebration was eye opening and heart warming.  The dance was high intensity, the music and skits were very inspirational, the preaching even though I didn’t understand, you get the feel for what’s being said.  The Haitians are full of love, service to each other and all about family.  Prayer tent was beyond humbling.  I was afraid I would not be enough for the task.  Didn’t matter what I thought.  God’s will be done in all things.

Food is good.  Pancakes work here too!  Made Bel Bracelet (Bell bra-say-lay) “Beautiful Bracelets” for men.  They love the pink here!!  We got spaghetti with mini hot dogs and marinara.  A “Real I-Talian Treat!”  (For you Kristi)

I love you all.  For today, this is what I was meant to be doing.  Thank you for your prayers and support!  I love you all so much.  Au Revoir

Kevin
