Crossroads Day 5…

Day three of VBS was pretty good! The competition between the teams has gotten really intense. The kids learned about shoes of peace and played soccer; the later they were very familiar with. We played with them and they particularly enjoyed playing with my hair along with Katie’s. The children are blossoming and getting very comfortable with us and I hope they feel that they can talk to us even when it’s hard.

After VBS, we put together goodie bags to give to the children tomorrow. We walked through some of the hills and invited children to a movie we are showing tonight on the front steps of the mission. I hope we can touch their hearts with the affection we show tonight. On a personal note, I was so excited to see the pictures of my new baby brother! He is so precious and chubby(: I can’t wait to meet him and I’m so jealous of all of you that get to meet him! I love you so much Collin<3 Hey mama, I hope you’re doing well and that it was super easy for you. I love you ash, take care of Lex for me! Takes some more pictures Bud, love you lots. As big as the moon! -Kourtney

It was another amazing day, ministry comes in so many forms and ways. I felt very used again today by the lord to help not just the children but people of all generations. We spent the morning doing sporting events with the kids from the village, and then I snuck back over to the orphanage again, to help get the kids and babies ready for lunch time, its such a great feeling getting surrounded by little ones who swarm you with hugs. It is also how amazing how just looking at the kids in VBS will light up their faces with a bright smile. One glance, one smile, one hug seems to completely put joy into them. We can teach all day long about the love of Christ but when we show them is where the real change happens. Emily & Katelyn I cant wait to be home and hug and kiss you both, thanks for being supportive and sharing your momma for a week ;-). Thanks also Jeremie for your support and taking care of our girls while I am gone. xoxo Em & Kate

Joel, your comments make me cry every night I hear them. I love you so much, and don’t worry, I’ll be coming home! It’s true that I am loving spending time with these children and the people, but it can never replace the love I have for you and our children. I will see you on Sunday. I love you!

Stephanie, Ashley, Nick, Jonathan, Jaclyn and Madison, seeing the children here have increased my motherly love for you all immensely. I cannot wait to give each and every one of you a hug when I get back (Steph, your hug will have to wait until you come to visit – hint, hint 🙂 ).

Mom and Dad, just wanted you to know that your oldest daughter is being careful and I am so grateful for the life you gave me growing up. We might not have had everything we wanted, but we were never in need. Seeing these children needing hugs and love and food and water makes me praise God that I had such wonderful, hard-working parents.

I love you all!!!

Bon Swa (hello). I can definitely see God stretching me here in Haiti. He has put me in some very, to me, uncomfortable situations, but I know he is just trying to grow my faith. I have so many amazing stories i cant share on here but can not wait to share when I get home. Have bonded a lot with more of the youth kids. I have seen a lot of growth already in each of them.

Please pray for Lauren G. she has not been feeling well (sinus stuff) Pray she can overcome her feeling sick and push through so she can fully experience everything God has in store for her here. I miss you so much Mark, Emily, and Justin!! Please have them blog to me mark! I want to hear what they have to say to their mommy. I miss you and cant wait to see you all soon.

Looking forward to the last day of VBS tomorrow and move on to doing some construction. So exhausted every day, but it helps with sleeping (it is so HOT!!) LOL looking forward to AC, I now have such a new perspective and appreciation on that and many, many other things.
