Crossroads Day 5…

Day three of VBS was pretty good! The competition between the teams has gotten really intense. The kids learned about shoes of peace and played soccer; the later they were very familiar with. We played with them and they particularly enjoyed playing with my hair along with Katie’s. The children are blossoming and getting very comfortable with us and I hope they feel that they can talk to us even when it’s hard.

After VBS, we put together goodie bags to give to the children tomorrow. We walked through some of the hills and invited children to a movie we are showing tonight on the front steps of the mission. I hope we can touch their hearts with the affection we show tonight. On a personal note, I was so excited to see the pictures of my new baby brother! He is so precious and chubby(: I can’t wait to meet him and I’m so jealous of all of you that get to meet him! I love you so much Collin<3 Hey mama, I hope you’re doing well and that it was super easy for you. I love you ash, take care of Lex for me! Takes some more pictures Bud, love you lots. As big as the moon! -Kourtney

It was another amazing day, ministry comes in so many forms and ways. I felt very used again today by the lord to help not just the children but people of all generations. We spent the morning doing sporting events with the kids from the village, and then I snuck back over to the orphanage again, to help get the kids and babies ready for lunch time, its such a great feeling getting surrounded by little ones who swarm you with hugs. It is also how amazing how just looking at the kids in VBS will light up their faces with a bright smile. One glance, one smile, one hug seems to completely put joy into them. We can teach all day long about the love of Christ but when we show them is where the real change happens. Emily & Katelyn I cant wait to be home and hug and kiss you both, thanks for being supportive and sharing your momma for a week ;-). Thanks also Jeremie for your support and taking care of our girls while I am gone. xoxo Em & Kate

Joel, your comments make me cry every night I hear them. I love you so much, and don’t worry, I’ll be coming home! It’s true that I am loving spending time with these children and the people, but it can never replace the love I have for you and our children. I will see you on Sunday. I love you!

Stephanie, Ashley, Nick, Jonathan, Jaclyn and Madison, seeing the children here have increased my motherly love for you all immensely. I cannot wait to give each and every one of you a hug when I get back (Steph, your hug will have to wait until you come to visit – hint, hint πŸ™‚ ).

Mom and Dad, just wanted you to know that your oldest daughter is being careful and I am so grateful for the life you gave me growing up. We might not have had everything we wanted, but we were never in need. Seeing these children needing hugs and love and food and water makes me praise God that I had such wonderful, hard-working parents.

I love you all!!!

Bon Swa (hello). I can definitely see God stretching me here in Haiti. He has put me in some very, to me, uncomfortable situations, but I know he is just trying to grow my faith. I have so many amazing stories i cant share on here but can not wait to share when I get home. Have bonded a lot with more of the youth kids. I have seen a lot of growth already in each of them.

Please pray for Lauren G. she has not been feeling well (sinus stuff) Pray she can overcome her feeling sick and push through so she can fully experience everything God has in store for her here. I miss you so much Mark, Emily, and Justin!! Please have them blog to me mark! I want to hear what they have to say to their mommy. I miss you and cant wait to see you all soon.

Looking forward to the last day of VBS tomorrow and move on to doing some construction. So exhausted every day, but it helps with sleeping (it is so HOT!!) LOL looking forward to AC, I now have such a new perspective and appreciation on that and many, many other things.

  2. To the World’s Best Mom and Wife,
Waiting for these blogs every night is like hearing the icecream truck one block over and it stops at every house before coming down your street. Thank God when it finally shows up, it’s over-stocked with orange creamsickles!! You may cry every night listening to my comments, but I cry myself to sleep every night cause I have no one to put my arm around, and no hair to play with. I am looking forward to picking up our children from VBS on Friday, I just wanna hug them all, perhaps if I squeeze them hard enough I can feel a little piece of you….If you havent figured it out, I miss you! I understand why it was your life’s calling to be a missionary, you have made it so apparent in your daily blogs. πŸ™‚

If you aren’t crying yet, you got called for jury duty on July 23rd… πŸ˜›

  7. Hello everyone! I agree with Sue as far as the bloody smile pic. At first I was grossed out, but then appreciated it. Ron thought it was great! Glad to hear that VBS is going well and the kids are having a good time. So glad to hear that they are getting love so needed. Lauren… Dad, Nathan and I are praying for you tonight. Hope that the Lord will strengthen you and help you overcome what has got you down. Please be careful with taking your migraine meds. Dad says “Hang in there Girly.” Go shine!

  8. Justin, “Hi, mommy, I miss you and love you!”
    Emily, “Hi.”

That’s it, it was a bit tough to explain what, “I’ll type what you want to say to mommy.” means. They asked to put you on the speaker as if I was going to Skype. πŸ™‚

Praying for you baby. Longing for your touch. <3

  9. So love the pics of the”little ones” ministering to the “little ones”! Such a blessing! Will be praying for Lauren! I know just how she feels! Poor dear! You all are doing such a great job in Jesus’ name. Love you J.D. & Jennette!
