December Outreach: Bringing Hope, Light, and Love to Our Community

There are still so many incredible ministries to share, but I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the most impactful outreach efforts from December. It was a month filled with generosity, joy, and deep moments of faith—made possible because of your kindness. Throughout the month, we distributed 1,400 gifts that arrived by boat, including clothing, shoes, toiletries, peanut butter, toys, school supplies, and other essentials. We are beyond grateful for everyone who helped make this happen. Your generosity has touched countless lives, and we cannot thank you enough.

A Community in Lights

The first set of photos below captures the glow of our Christmas lights, stretching from the clinic to the orphanage—a breathtaking sight that brought so much joy to our community. The local radio even spread the word, encouraging children to come and see the display. Knowing how much excitement this brought them makes my heart so full. We always ensure that the basketball court shines the brightest since that’s where the kids gather for movie nights.

Movie Nights Under the Stars

From Thanksgiving weekend until December 23rd, we hosted community movie nights every Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, December brought more rain than we anticipated. Despite the gloomy skies, the children still arrived, hoping the rain would hold off long enough for the movie to play. Their determination and excitement never wavered.

Each night, we handed out popcorn and small gifts, making the evenings even more special. Rain or shine, these moments created cherished memories for so many.

Providing Comfort After Tragedy

Words cannot express how much your support has meant to our community, especially in the wake of the devastating bus accident. As families continue to grieve and heal, your kindness has helped bring some comfort. Because of your generosity, we were able to distribute bags of rice, beans, charcoal, and cooking oil to those affected. A dear friend even wrote personalized cards in Creole for each family—a reminder that God’s love is with them and that people around the world are lifting them up in prayer.

On December 20th, before the deliveries began, our staff gathered at 4 a.m. for a prayer circle. The darkness made it impossible to capture a photo, but the moment was powerful. We divided into teams and spent the next three hours delivering these gifts directly to each family’s doorstep. Out of respect for their grief, we chose not to take pictures of the deliveries, but please know that your generosity made an immeasurable difference.

A Christmas Surprise for Preskul

It had been over a year since anyone from our team was able to visit the Preskul Fishing Village, mainly due to the lack of available boats. But thanks to Mission Navigation, we were finally able to return! At 6:30 a.m., Asher and Momma Gigi led our team as we set out to deliver rice, beans, toiletries, candy, and clothes.

The villagers had no idea we were coming, making the moment even more beautiful. As our boat reached the shore, children ran toward us with pure excitement. We immediately handed out candy bags so the little ones could enjoy a treat while their parents focused on the Bible study, worship, and prayer that followed.

After the devotion, each person received several “black bags” filled with supplies. Many villagers repeatedly expressed their gratitude, saying they had felt forgotten. This visit was more than just a delivery—it was a tangible reminder that God sees them, loves them, and has not abandoned them.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” – John 1:5

Worship That Fills the Soul

Since we had a major New Year’s Eve event planned for the kids, our all-night prayer service was held on December 30th. When we say “all-night,” we truly mean it—worship started at 6 p.m. and continued until 5:30 a.m.

Our campus kids were welcome to attend, though they weren’t required to stay all night. Even so, 12 of them chose to worship until dawn. The service was filled with music, testimonies, scripture readings, and words of encouragement to carry into the new year.

In Haiti, 4 a.m. prayer services are common throughout the week, so worshipping all night isn’t unusual. But what moves me deeply is knowing that many of these individuals only eat a small meal every other day. To think that they came in with empty stomachs and still poured their hearts out in gratitude to God for 12 hours straight is both humbling and awe-inspiring.

At 4 a.m., we handed out food boxes, as many were weak from the hours of worship. It was a powerful reminder that while their bodies may have been weary, their faith remained strong.

Thank You for Being Part of This Mission

These are just a few of the ways your generosity made an impact this December. There is still so much more to share! Every prayer, every donation, and every act of kindness has allowed us to serve our community in ways that truly matter.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in this mission and for standing with us as we continue to bring light, love, and hope to those who need it most.
