August Adventures – Day 6…

From Freedom Reigns….

Hellooooooo everyone!!!! It’s Leah Barrientos here 🙂 Today is day 6 that we have been in Haiti…God is doing a work…So so much we have been doing…

Yesterday morning we had our last day of women’s conference here at The Mole…We asked them the day before what they would like to learn about…They all told us “We want to hear your testimonies!!!!!”  You overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony! So that’s what we shared on as a group…Their hearts were open and I think they really enjoyed it 🙂

We drew names and two women won a set each of chickens and we gave every women a gallon size bag of rice…Such a blessing to GIVE!!! 🙂 Then it was lunch…Hatian stew and a COLD COKE is what we had…Cold is gooooood in Haiti 😉

Last night we traveled by truck to a Village called Jean Rebel to host a revival…Worship was by far the best…The sweet presence of God rested on everyone…Tears flowed down my face as I closed my eyes and listened to them worship almighty God! It then started to pour down rain so we had to move chairs and sound equipment inside a cement building…As we settled in, worship started again…Sweet Holy Spirit filled the place again…

There were about 6 doors on that building and there were about 10 faces trying their hardest to look through the door as Jakob preached…Even through the cracks in the cement you would see fingers and eyeballs peeking through into the service…Young children in the front rows were so attentive…Their eyes were glued on Jakob…Altar call time came…Jakob called out for those who wanted healing…Now this is a Village that has never had a revival, at least hosted by Americans…They were shy when it came to coming up to the front of the church…

Blessed my heart so much that the first people to come up told Jakob they wanted to give their lives to the Lord!!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!!! That’s what we came here for…God is good…Then the altars flooded with people…Everyone wanted prayer…And they got it 🙂

Thank you all for your prayers…We feel them…The nights have been a lot cooler and we are sleeping better now PTL! Keep them coming, we still have 2 days before we head back to the USA 🙂 Revival again tonight in another Village…Mare Rouge…PRAY! Safe travels, God to move, and memories made…

Love you Freedom Reigns friends and family…We miss you all and the team loves knowing that we are covered in prayer…If your reading this and you see Moriah, Gabriel AND Krissy –  Give them love for us!!!!

From Northside…

WOW, it is hard to believe that tomorrow is our last work day here at the Mole. While the work has been hard, we have seen the fruits of our labor through the smiles of the people who will soon occupy these homes.

Besides our work, we’ve experienced so many different things while we’ve been here. There have been church services every night. While we haven’t attended all these services, we can hear the preaching and the singing from our bunks at night. It is remarkable the true dedication that has been established here and how faithful the congregation is at attending. While we are gathered for our dinner tonight, we can here children laughing and boys playing soccer. It is a true blessing to see how much joy they have without the material possessions that we have come to expect.

When I came to Haiti, I was not sure what to expect. You hear so many things through television and the news. The truth is Haiti is rich with people who love the Lord and are dedicated to His kingdom. We have met so many truly remarkable people here and while we don’t speak Creole, a simple “Bonjour” and a wave puts a smile on both of our faces.

Our time here has been short, but we’ve been blessed by great weather and great hospitality and my prayer is our efforts will be lasting and glorify the Kingdom of God.

I love you Jen, Brianna and Kyleigh and will see you soon!
