Hello from the Wedding Team. This week has been such a blessing. On Saturday morning we went to La Pointe and met with several of the deaf couples that would be married on Monday morning. That afternoon, we walked up the mountain behind the mission and met the two couples from Autumn’s outreach program that would be married Monday evening. We took photographs of each family, that we later gave them as gifts.
The deaf wedding on Monday morning had to be one of the sweetest we have done to date. The sense of community that the deaf have was so heart warming. They were full of joy and happiness at their wedding. Thanks to Madison Koller and Mike Haake for signing the ceremony so they could truly understand what the pastor was saying.
Tuesday morning we set out for the Mole. It was a long five hour ride to go just forty miles. We enjoyed the beauty of the country side and ended the ride with a down pour…it actually felt great!
Thursday morning we set out for Preskul. We had done a wedding there 3 years ago and I took with me yesterday a picture of one of the couples we had taken on a return visit two years ago. This was a high light of my trip. The bride was so happy we came to visit and brought her a photograph of she and her husband. They are doing well…it was great to see them again.
The wedding team is still in full force. Today, we are preparing for the big wedding here in the Mole. Yesterday we were blessed to fit the brides in their wedding gowns and the grooms in their suits. By the grace of God, everything fit perfectly. Joe and I enjoyed so much meeting the couples and finding out a little bit about each one. Most of the couples have been together for over 8 years, have several children together, but were unable to meet the financial obligation to get married. This is going to be a great day to celebrate the lives of these wonderful people! God is good…All the time!
