What? That’s right! Go ahead and read that title twice!!!
This Easter we received the most INCREDIBLE news!
After 5 years of diligently praying & pleading with God – He has heard our cries & answered our prayers! Many people in this town have made fun of our God. They have teased & said that the voodoo curses are working because our church still meets in a military tent – a tent that has been burned several times from voodoo services.
But we know this to be true and now they will see it too – Our God is indeed Greater, Stronger, & More Powerful!

From Tom Snivley:
Meridian Christian Church in Okemos, Michigan developed a relationship with Northwest Haiti Christian Mission in 2010 – with annual mission trips to serve alongside Jose & Jody Castillo in Mole St Nicolas, Haiti.
MCC has supported a number of projects over these past five years as our outreach focus continued to grow as a congregation. We have felt the pain and false hope this community has dealt with over the past few years and wanted to see a church constructed on their campus. So we asked ourselves how could we help with this task along with the support of our God.
Over the past five or six years Meridian Christian Church has used the first month of the year with a fifth Sunday as what we call a “Generosity Offering”. The offering raised on this special Sunday is given away to a designated project.
One of the prior years we helped fund the home on the campus that the Castillo’s live in today. This year (2015) our wish was to raise funds for the NWHCM Mole Church and our local summer Kids Kamp. Kids Kamp is held every year on the MCC campus in the summer to support local families with a daily Christian offering for children of working parents.
Our goal for 2015 was to raise $40,000 to support the NWHCM Mole Church and $2500 to support our local MCC Kids Kamp. As a result of our Generosity Offering, the generous folks at MCC raised just shy of $32,000, our largest offering ever. With the support of an anonymous outside donor – MCC was able to fully fund the NWHCM Mole Church and the local MCC Kids Kamp for the summer of 2015.
This all came in God’s timing. The first month with five Sundays was March, so the last Sunday of March 2015 was our Generosity Offering. Just six weeks prior, there were seven of us that decided at the last minute to make a trip to the Mole for Easter. It was our pleasure to share with the NWHCM Staff at dinner Saturday evening- a check for $40,000 to build the church!!
Everyone was so surprised and so excited, yet very apprehensive. The local women who participate in the Women’s Bible Study Group said they really don’t believe the church will be built. So until a shovel goes in the ground and the project is completed – this community will not believe our God is big enough to make this a reality for them.
We are excited for this opportunity to serve alongside Jose & Jody Castillo, family, and staff in this beautiful community with such a deep need for our loving Father, Jesus Christ.

THANKS MCC FOR SACRIFICING SO MUCH TO MAKE THIS
WISH – DREAM – PRAYER – HOPE – A REALITY!
Ephesians 3:20-21 New Living Translation (NLT)
20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
Tears of joy streaming as I write!!! Thank you, Meridian, for your generosity and faithfulness to our friends in the Mole! Glory to God.
