One Life

So, as promised, here’s more of an in-depth look at our weeks with teams! Our first team in July was the One Life team that headed our way in the Mole on July 7th after having spent the first half of their week at the mission campus in St. Louis du Nord.
Once here they had a quick 3 full days of ministry! Their first morning here we got to head out to my favorite fishing village Preskul! There the team got to play soccer, color, as well as talk with the people of the village and hold some sweet babies!

The next two mornings consisted of VBS with around 100 kids from the community. Over the span of these two days these kids heard about God’s great love for them and how they were created special by God. We had crafts and games and lots of fun together!

The team also held a special VBS for our kids from the orphanage where they talked about Jesus being the light and made adorable little lighthouses! We also had a fun day at the beach with all the kids as we held swimming lessons in the ocean! Even though the wind made it seem freezing (you laugh, but the kids were all shivering)!

Huts to huts and campus ministry were also on this team’s agenda and they helped tremendously around our campus by picking up trash, clearing out weeds, doing mechanic work, and cleaning the church!
Before we knew it, July 11th arrived and it was time for this team to head out. I’m thankful for the time they spent here, even if it seemed so short! It was great to see some of our other mission staff and family from St. Louis as the Harvey family and some fellow interns came along with their home church for this trip! Overall it was great having this team here, and as it was the first time for most of them to experience the Mole I hope many decide to return again next year!
