This update went out as a mass email through the mission office. I know not everyone receives those, so I wanted to cut and paste that here.
It’s been a wild week. |

Since Haiti is in the news nearly every night now, I’m sure most of you are aware that Prime Minister Ariel Henry resigned earlier this week. Although there is hope among the people that things could get better, so far, not much has changed. Port au Prince is still not safe and the airports are still closed. Although the areas we minister in are not controlled by gangs, the gangs make everything worse for everyone, no matter where you live. Recently our St Louis du Nord missionaries were able to leave Haiti through the Dominican Republic, as a precaution, and so they could come back the States for rest and to see family. The Castillo’s remain at our remote Mole St Nicolas campus for the time being. As we have stated before, the Northwest is not seeing the gang violence that the news shows in Port au Prince, but there have certainly been protests against Haiti’s leadership, so we operate with an abundance of caution. Please keep all of our missionaries in your prayers. Food, fuel, medicine, school supplies, medical supplies, and everything else are still very hard to find and very expensive if you can find them. But, NWHCM still has mouths to feed, kids to educate, and patients to see. We keep things running, because if we don’t, people don’t survive. It’s that simple. There is no one else to do everything we do everywhere we do it. We employee over 225 Haitian workers to run all of our programs and it is their hands that do 95% of the ministry. Please lift them all up in prayer as they serve the God they love and the people they care for. Sam Guilliams (Executive Director)

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7 |
