Back in August I wrote a blog called – The Presence of The Lord Is Here. This blog shared a little about my childhood – playing with my friends in Haiti and seeing how afraid they were of the dark.
While I was sitting outside one night in the Mole – I couldn’t help but notice how dark the mountains were. God placed in my heart that we needed to light up the Mole for Him! There’s simply no other choice but to break through the layers of darkness here and to claim victory for Him.
Momentum Christian Church took that blog to heart! They created Crave Light – an event that fundraised for solar lights for Haitian families.
Besides a special praise and worship session – during the program they played a recording of me reading the blog. The event started in darkness. They took the scriptures listed in the blog and ladies read them out loud to the crowd. With each verse read – a light would come on! One by one a light would be illuminated – until the entire room was lit up!
Crave Light raised enough funds for 300 lights! This past week a team of ladies from this church came to the Mole for 3 days to deliver the lights! As you can see from the last several blogs – they did more than just deliver lights! They reached out to hundreds of children in His Name!
Soon I will be posting some stories that came from this past week’s Light Distribution. We are definitely peeling back the layers of darkness here – one light at a time!
So what are YOU going to do to stomp out the darkness in Haiti? I’m sure each lady that came to that event wondered if their light could really make a difference! Why don’t you ask the 300 families that received lights this week if their light made a difference?
God created us to shine! To shine His light in darkness! I have no doubt that satan (who prefers the darkness) was left utterly frustrated this past week! There are 300 fewer places for him to hide!
So here is my question – what are you going to do with YOUR light?
This Little Light Of Mine
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine,
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
Won’t let Satan blow it out.
I’m gonna let it shine.
Won’t let Satan blow it out.
I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
Let it shine til Jesus comes.
I’m gonna let it shine.
Let it shine til Jesus comes.
I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
Let it shine over the whole wide world,
I’m gonna let it shine.
Let it shine over the whole wide world,
I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
I feel honored that I got to be apart of Crave Lite and one of the team members who got to deliver the solar lights to Haiti. Every mission trip I have been on has changed my life in some way. But this trip to Haiti has changed me tremendously more. Since I have been home, all I can think about is how grateful and humbled I am that I was able to serve Him in such a might way. And those sweet babies in the Orphanage.
Thank you Lord for using me to tell others about You and being able to share Your Light to them.
Kim – you made me laugh more this trip than I have in a long time! You were good therapy for my soul!! We already miss you! You better come this fall or I’m gonna go “street level” on you!
I can’t wait to meet you in July!!! I’m coming with PVBC for the medical clinic. I love what God is doing in the Mole!!
