I shared earlier about the first part of our conference and so here comes Part 2!
Saturday Night Revival
Saturday the sermon was taken from 1 John –
1 John 2:15-16
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[a] is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
The pastor shared that many of us are searching for something we think will satisfy but only Jesus will meet that need! We have to stop seeking the things of this world – we don’t get to take them with us!
Sunday Morning Church & Revival:
On Sunday my papa preached! He shared that we should FEAR NOT – for God is with us.
He explained how his youth group met at the church at midnight – there were 60 young kids there. After 2 hours of worship they walked to the big voodoo tree and sang songs about Jesus. (The tree never opened up like the voodoo stories that were shared). Later they walked a few miles to the cemetery. There weren’t any zombies there either.
Here all this time the kids were afraid of the tree – would walk a mile out of the way just to not be near it – they never would go to the cemetery – now they have a testimony and their hearts and minds have completely changed!
This world is unpredictable. The person you relied on can pass away, you can lose your job, you can have an accident and all of a sudden that security we had is gone. We panic! But God says FEAR NOT – for I AM WITH YOU. Our security can only be put into Jesus Christ. Everything else at some point will fail. (Now our ladies are starting to talk about our own faith walks and getting together at night and walking the beach where some of the Macondas are supposed to be lurking).
Sunday afternoon it poured down rain. When I say it poured down rain I mean it was a torrential rain that lasted for hours. While our attendance did suffer some we are proud to say that nearly all of our ladies came – rain or shine! How easy it is for us to make an excuse that it’s rainy out so we don’t want to “drive” Sunday morning. These ladies walked through ankle-deep mud just to praise Jesus on a cold and wet Sunday night!

Monday’s Celebration:
For the past year we’ve been wanting to have a special picnic or feast to celebrate all that Christ has done for us. We were going to have it in the summer but I was in the hospital in the states.
Some of the women spent all day cooking! Others were preparing jokes, singing, dancing, & practicing dramas for our entertainment portion! The ladies rarely get to celebrate in this way – so they came dressed up and ready to enjoy a special night of fellowship. The celebration started at 3pm and didn’t finish until after 7pm!!
I am sad to say that unfortunately my back gave out – so I wasn’t able to attend today’s celebration! I’m so sad I wasn’t able to see all the entertainment or watch everyone fill their bellies with great food! But I’m grateful for everyone who has donated towards this special conference!
This past weekend Haiti celebrated the Day of the Dead – where they call upon the spirits of the dead to meet their needs. But we spent the last 4 days PRAISING the Living God who IS all we could ever want or need! He is the ONLY THING that can satisfy!
Here are some pictures & video clips from the last two days!
