Chosen Group…..Day 7

Bonswa! We have officially been here for a full week! Things are going quite swell. We really feel like things have taken a turn in the past couple days and gotten even better.

Today, the girls had part one of dance camp, and the guys played sports downtown. In the afternoon, we had a picnic for the orphanage staff. We played a bunch of games and did some line dances, which were really fun. We made cupcakes the night before for the picnic. They were delicious. 🙂

I have to say, the highlight of my day was in the pool when Grace started asking the Castillo boys who out of the girls on our team would they marry. Without hesitation, Levi said Cassidy. Later, he said her name starts with a G. When Grace asked Asher, he told her me, but he was super embarrassed about it and avoided me for the rest of the time in the pool while blushing if I looked at him, but before all of that, he told Gabe to “get away from my girl.” Gabe denied that he likes any of us, but he was pretty quick to say no and swam away quickly. These boys crack me up so much.

I’d say the second best part of my day was Bebe saying “I am Batman” in a deep creepy voice. This trip has been amazing so far and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the trip holds. Oh and Lena, if you’re actually reading these, I miss you and V a bunch! I keep thinking of things you guys would say in different situations. Mom and Dad, I miss all of you! I’d love to hear from you or the girls or Ben!

Cassidy here! I am having a great time in the Mole. Dance camp today was really fun but I have never sweat so much in my life! I have also already taken two showers today and I’m planning on another before bed. But it’s all totally worth it!

I am loving spending time with all of the orphans and I have become good friends with Tison, Rosie’s uncle. He is 13 so don’t be weirded out thinking I am friends with an adult…The orphans are coming now to watch Happy Feet so I am going to end my blog here. Can’t wait to hear from you all!

  1. Hannah, We are all missing you a lot. The girls are counting down the days until you come home and they are thankful that it is almost Friday. Benjamin misses you too. We are glad to see that everything is going well there and that your are bonding with all the kids. We know it will be tough to leave but we will be glad to have you home. Love, Mom and Dad

  2. Melissa – sounds like you’re going to have a hard time getting these kids back on a plane to the States! It’s great to hear all the fun you’re having with those kids. I’m certain they treasure it as much, or more, than you kids.

Cassidy -miss you bunches and love you!

  3. So glad things are getting even better. God is faithful and good and He is answering prayers!! Love to hear the updates and see the pictures of everyone. You all look like you are having a great time! We miss you but are glad you are there serving and loving those kids! We are praying for you constantly. love – the Reams

  4. Troy! I’m loving to read about all your updates and see the great work you’ve been doing. I’m so glad to hear that you are talking to the boys we have poured into before and see that they are growing in their faith because of guys like you that spend time with them. It made me happy to hear that they were even asking where I was. I saw pictures of you with Alexson and even that one of Caleb and another kid combing with your hair (it’s awesome that you’re letting the Haitians mess with your hair). I appreciate being able to see God at work in you and your team, and see how you’re really living out your faith. I pray that He continues to move in you all and in your actions. I’m praying that you’re able to have good conversations with the boys in the Mole, even the young ones. I’m especially praying that you don’t run out of energy and that you can stay strong in the work you’re doing. And I’m praying that the events you have planned go well and bring lots of people in. I’m excited to hear all about your trip later this summer, and to see even more pictures from down there. Tell the kids “bonswa” from me and I hope that you keep it up and finish well. Orevwa!

  5. Hi Hannah, this is Rachel. I hope you have a good time there. I miss you and hope that you will be happy to see us Friday night. Love, Rachel

  6. Hey Hannah!
It’s great to hear about all the things you guys have been getting accomplished. I wish I could have gone back but it’s good to hear that everything is going great for you guys. I can’t wait to hear about all the other great parts of your trip when you get back. I only have one question, when did the Castillo’s get a pool?
