We are SO excited to announce that on May 31st our Mole Missionary Family will grow by 5!!
Matt and Lauren Epstein along with their 3 children (Genesis, Kelilah, & Micaiah) will be serving alongside us and our ministries for a full year! WAHOO!
Here’s their story…..
Once Upon a Time…
Eighteen years ago, at a Christ in Youth conference, I felt God beginning to call me, (Lauren), to overseas missions. The next year, I was given the opportunity to take a short-term mission trip to Haiti. I quickly fell in love with the people and the country. While there, I decided I would become a missionary pharmacist someday.
In 2000, Matt went to Haiti with me and we started to serve together. Over the next 2 decades, we have been a part of or led a dozen mission trips to introduce others to the great joy we have encountered serving as Jesus’ hands and feet in Haiti. We have been to 4 different mission sites, but God has set our hearts on the campus in Mole St. Nicolas in the far northwest region.
We have been honored to lead medical teams, construction, Vacation Bible School, and more to the Mole while we went through high school, college and graduate school. I finished pharmacy school and have been blessed with a great career in long-term care pharmacy.
God has filled our hearts and lives with many blessings including our daughters, Genesis (12) and Kelilah (10) and our sweet son Micaiah (3). Genesis and Kelilah have been joining us in Haiti for the last 7 years and they amaze us with their servant hearts as they build relationships and love on the orphans and children in the Mole. Each year, we wish we could stay longer and do more.
Answering the Call…
Now, we feel the call as a family to pack up and move there for at least a year and share our blessings, faith and love with those to whom God has called us to minister. We are partnering with the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission in their goal to rescue, restore and redeem the lost and hurting with the love of Jesus for the glory of God’s kingdom.
I plan to work as a pharmacist in the campus clinic and when medical teams come through and also help with organization and administrative tasks. Matt will be putting on his familiar camp counselor hat and working with teams as they come through.
We both plan to begin groups and ministries that support marriage and families in the Mole. The girls want to share their passions with kids’ clubs like soccer, knitting, etc. We know God will show us more ways we can serve once we arrive…

We’ve been working diligently building their home on top of our recently constructed granmoun (elderly) home….which is still a work in progress as well.
Their home is not quite finished yet but the staff has been working non-stop! We are confident it will be ready when they arrive! God’s timing is always perfect!
Here’s some pics below of the progress…. Please be praying for this incredible family and for all of the ministry opportunities they will be able provide for our community. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!
So proud of you and your family. You are a joy.
