Typically we do 10 Nights of Christmas Movies, leading up to the Nativity Story – which is always shown on the 24th.
This year, however, we decided to switch things up. Instead of a straight week of movies, we stretched out the fun by showing them every weekend starting on November 26th! This was truly the best decision! We have had SO MUCH energy this week… and have been fully present for each of our events.

December 19th…
We made another major change this year. Instead of hosting our Christmas Eve service on December 24th, we held our special service on Sunday night. Pastor Hens preached, the dames sang a few specials, and our campus kids danced. After the service, we passed out hot chocolate and peanut butter sandwiches!

December 21st…
We had our staff meal/party on Tuesday night! Our party started at 5pm and didn’t finish until 10:45pm! We had a scrumptious meal, revealed each other’s Secret Santa, played games, & laughed till we cried! This event was so awesome & fun- that it deserves it’s own blog! I will be posting about it soon!

December 23rd…
On December 23rd (today)… we fed 120 elderly folks from our community! Our family does this special meal every year. It’s one of our favorite family traditions. They are always SO thankful and such a joy to be around! This meal is legit….not just rice and beans. We’ve got salads, meats, pastas, & other fried food – menu items that are a real treat and often too expensive to buy/cook for themselves.
TODAY WAS ALSO EXTRA SPECIAL BECAUSE JOSE’S MOM IS HERE! SHE IS SPENDING THE HOLIDAYS WITH US… AND WE COULDN’T BE MORE EXCITED!! It’s been 5 years since she’s been here. She finally gets to see/meet Fabi…and play with our sweet little twins!

December 24th…
Tomorrow afternoon (Dec 24th), my family will be spending the afternoon decorating the church for a surprise Christmas party for our campus kids! They have no idea what we are planning!
The plan: We will wake the children up at 3am! YES YOU HEARD ME – 3AM! They have never been woken up for a party before! When they go to the church on Christmas morning, they will see 2 Christmas trees – one for the boys & one for the girls.
Each child will have a backpack full of presents, a blanket, and a candy box! There will be popcorn & Christmas movies. There will be a special craft station where they can make their own hats & Christmas ties! Malaya made special cookies for them to eat with their hot chocolate. Tizzie & Momma Gigi are also planning to serve a pancake breakfast at 4:30am!
We can’t wait for tomorrow night….we will make sure to post pictures!
