We have been deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support in the wake of the bus crash.
Many have asked how they can help, and while we’re incredibly grateful for your generosity, we’ve been careful not to rush into seeking assistance without a thoughtful plan. We would never want to give the impression that we are collecting funds in response to tragedy without a clear purpose in mind.
Our team has spent much time in prayer, searching for the best way to uplift and support those who lost loved ones or everything they had.
After much consideration, we’ve decided that the most meaningful way we can help is by providing essential supplies—rice, beans, oil, and charcoal—to 80 families who have been affected by this devastating event.
We will be purchasing these supplies from Miami and it should take about a month for them to arrive. Once they arrive, our plan is to visit these families personally, knocking on doors very early in the morning, bringing not only supplies but a message of care and comfort. In a way, it will be like Christmas caroling, but with gifts that will hopefully bring some relief during such a difficult time. (This giveaway will be similar to how our staff passed out the solar lights. It will be a total surprise and delivered by 5am).
If you feel led to support this effort, we humbly welcome any contributions. We will begin by providing rice and beans, and depending on the funding, we’ll expand to include charcoal and oil.
