Chosen Group Day 3…

Bonswa!

Day 2 in the Mole is complete…and with even more stories to share!

Story #1: This is actually a follow-up on yesterday’s story 1. So after we posted the blog, Jose read it and came into the cafeteria. The Castillos have a pool in their yard that he had told us we could use and he thought one of the staff ladies had made us get out because of chlorine being added. I guess we should’ve been more clear that I got pushed in to the pool at the hotel. And no worries, the Castillo pool is cleaned with salt.

Story #2: Allen has been picking up cute Haitian chicks all day. Take this very literally.

Story #3: We spent the morning working in the clinic. Then we spent the afternoon playing with jump ropes and balls and painting nails downtown. Susan had warned us before we left that they might try to run off with stuff. So naturally, they did. A group of 4 or 5 girls took off running across the courtyard with a jump rope and I had to go running after it. Luckily, there was a Mole-ian who spoke English that knew what I was trying to do and went and rescued the rope for us. These kids….

Everyone is doing well. The weather was much nicer today and we aren’t still dripping sweat.

Can’t wait to hear from you all. Please comment underneath!

  5. Girls, can you share a little bit about the culture? I note in photos you all are wearing long skirts yet some of those pictured with you are in jeans or shorts or shorter skirts.
