I wanted to post a quick update about this year’s plan for shipping.
As I stated in a previous blog, we were unsure whether we could secure the minimum amount required to participate this year. We were prepared to sit this one out – though it would’ve been the first time in over 20 years.
We have raised $7650.00 as of today. We believe that amount will allow us to ship 3 full-size crates! WAHOO! ***On average, we send 9-13 crates yearly. (Costs include: wood to build them, paying truck driver to take them to Miami, paying boat that ships them to Haiti, and paying customs once it clears).
We are thankful for the generosity of others and are relieved that our community will still be able to see those crates being unloaded. Personally, I was concerned that the community would lose a little hope if there were no crates. Our blessings are ultimately their blessings. So they take their cues about how “bad” things are in the world – based off the activities we still do.
All missions in Haiti are dealing with a shortage in supplies, travelers, resources, and funding. MANY missions who’ve spent decades in Haiti – have now been forced to close their doors.
So the fact that we are still actively engaged in a ministry that we whole-heartedly love – AND – we’ve secured enough funds to send a few crates – what a privilege! His grace & mercy upon our family/ministry is not lost on us.
We want to be very strategic with the items we ship this year – focusing on specific supplies that are either hard to find or expensive to purchase locally. There are 3 specific ways you can help us in our efforts.
HOW CAN YOU HELP US NOW?

- 2. Your group, your church, or your family can collect supplies from the list below! **Needed in KY by September 5th.
- 3. You can purchase supplies online through websites like: Sam’s Club, Walmart, Amazon, Dollar Tree, Costco, etc. **When you select shipping, type in our KY address. **Needed in KY by September 5th.

***THOUGH WE HAVE A WAREHOUSE TO PACK THE SUPPLIES – MAIL GOES DIRECTLY TO MY PARENT’S HOUSE. SO I’D RATHER NOT PUT THAT OUT ON A PUBLIC FORUM.
