We have had horrible weather here in the Mole. I have NEVER heard of a tornado in Haiti before – but this one destroyed over 200 homes.
Our schools have been cancelled most of the week due to torrential rain and mud slides in the mountains. Thankfully, our town hasn’t experienced this type of wind.
We scheduled 4 different food-giveaways this week, but had to postpone all of them due to the weather.

Though the rain is definitely frustrating for us and has ruined all the activities we had planned…..
-🔹At least I don’t have to hold my children all night long, watching my dirt floor become a mud puddle. No, my kids are dry.
-🔹 At least I don’t have to worry what my kids will eat tomorrow because my charcoal is soaking wet and what little rice I have is now soggy & covered in mud. No, we have a gas stove and a storage depot.
-🔹 At least I don’t have to worry that I don’t have drinking water because the pipes in town have been broken for days. No, we have a Sunspring.
-🔹 At least I don’t have to sit in the dark and worry about what is happening around me, unable to see the upcoming mud slide or flood that is headed my way. No, we have flashlights, diesel, and can run a generator.
-🔹 At least I don’t have to sit in their state of fear – unable to find peace, strength, or courage as I wonder if God is even out there? Or if there even is a God?
-💡No, I know who Jesus is. I know He will hold me close. I know He will fight for me. I know He will make His presence known to me. I know He will make all things work for His good. I know He will give me the faith to keep doing good, even when nothing feels good. I know He will guide me even when I feel so ill equipped to be His true servant here.
No…I am one of the lucky ones.
Please continue to pray for Haiti 🇭🇹 as we continually deal with one tragedy after another.
