Northwest Haiti Christian Mission
I spoke to all the girls about what it means to be a woman of God – how God sees us, how others see us, and how we see/should see ourselves. We ended up walking all the sweet girls home – a block or a mile – and got to meet and talk with their parents.
In the morning a couple of us helped in the clinic, while the rest of the group played with the orphans and sorted supplies! This afternoon….
FYI – The bus with the rest of our Rooted friends pulled into the compound around 8:30pm. They unloaded their bags, had a late dinner, and are now showering & getting ready for bed!
Today Jamie and I had a chance to meet with Pastor Agenor and understand the challenges and successes of the Mole Christian Church which this wise and faithful man leads. I’m struck by the progress being made by Northwest Haiti Christian Mission in this region against considerable odds.
Today was another amazing day in Haiti. We started out the day with a nice warm hike to one of Susan’s special needs students, Mack-Edens. He lives up by the mountain and everywhere I looked I saw a new, beautiful piece of nature. To our right were the beach and the ocean.
This is my first trip to Haiti but I have no doubt that I will be returning very soon, the impact that this place has had on me in only a few days is unexplainable. Among many other things, I feel that He is teaching me how to love His people unconditionally.
