Last night we had even discussed trying to make a more personal connection with some kids, even just one! So we know God had a reason for Lancy to get all of the attention and love today!
We played with the orphans when we got back then all of our group headed to Susan’s Special Needs class where we worked with Fedna, Gigi, and Claude.
Some of us led the youth group today. With an age range of 12-30 years old we weren’t really sure what to expect, but we didn’t get anyone older than high school. Maddy said that we should teach them a game called ninja, and they loved it! Then Paul taught us about the story of Jonah, he did so well for his first time preaching to anyone!
The orphans were split into three teams participating in a round robin competition. Some of the events included a wheelbarrow race, three-legged race and jumping through hula- hoops. As a grand finale the Rooted team challenged each of the three teams.
Today was a really exciting day! My group left at 6:30 a.m. and we went to a boating village called Kapafu. The boat ride was really quick and we got a nice cloud cover on the way back so that was amazing.
Today I had some kids open up to me. Today I got to preach the gospel. I had God speak through me today to be translated and to touch the hearts of the girls and give them a smile that makes us smile.
